We do appraisals. From Single books to complete libraries.

• *For libraries or a collection of books, we can arrange for an appointment to assess the collection in general. Minium of an hour.
  
  

• * Our rate is $125.00 an hour with a minium of an hour. For areas out of the San Francisco Bay Area, travel costs are additional.
  
  
• * To make an appraisal more efficient, we recommend that the owner provide us with a list of the books, index cards or data base. If a list is not available, we can compile one for you. This service, however, adds to the hours devoted to the appraisal.
  
  
• * If books are being appraised for insurance or donation purposes, the appraiser must SEE the books.
  
  

• * Books are appraised at the rate of fair market (retail) value taking into consideration the edition, condition & desirability of the book or books.
  
  
• * The value that we give the books are based on our experience as retail dealers, auction records, on line prices, and bibliographic research. If books are particularly obscure or require extra research, the time necessary for that research is part of the appraisal hourly rate.
  
  

• * For very large collections, that involve many days of labor, the hourly rate maybe adjusted.
  
  

• * For single book appraisals, up to 125 books,
